خلاصه داستان: Ferdinando Cefalù, a 37-year-old Sicilian nobleman, is unhappily married to Rosalia, a devoted but dull wife. Consumed by his obsession with his young cousin Angela, Ferdinando dreams of a way to be with her. However, divorce is illegal and socially unacceptable in 1960s Italy. Desperate, he devises a plan to murder Rosalia and exploit an obscure law that allows a man to avoid punishment if he kills his wife in the act of adultery. Ferdinando manipulates Rosalia into having an affair, hoping to catch them in the act and carry out his scheme.
